Originally from Colorado but have spent most of the past 35 years living in SE Asia. After a career in community development changed to working in community-based ecotourism. For the past 6 years I have been the manager of a bicycle tour company based in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Working in the improvement of livelihoods in rural Laos, I became interested in using tourism as a community development tool. This interest led eventually to the establishment of the Boat Landing Guest House (www.theboatlanding.com) and work with private sector companies in developing community-based tourism programs in rural villages ( Exotissimo, Green Discovery Laos). Later on I have worked with companies in Thailand to develop community based tourism experiences. I have worked with WWF on a feasibility assessment of community-based tourism in Thailand's Northeast, wildlife tourism project in Cambodia as well as managing a yoga retreat. For the past six years I have worked with Grasshopper Adventures, a bike tour company, as the Thailand Country Manager.
