Plans to raise the fee payable by domestic tourists to the iconic 9th century Buddhist temple of Borobudur, a Unesco Site, by 14 times to approx. USD 52, had to be postponed following a public outcry. The number of people allowed to climb the temple is also being cut to 1,200.
