Italy: Sicilian town to sell 900 abandoned homes at low prices

Castiglione di Sicilia, a historic town on the slopes of Mt Etna, has decided to sell through auction up to 937 uninhabited houses. Prices will start at 1 Euro for houses in dire need of repairs. Mayor Antonino Camarda told CNN that buyers should complete renovations within three years but they can take advantage of generous tax credits for environmentally-friendly upgrades.
